Child and Teen Psychiatry in Bend, Oregon
For parents who've been told "let's wait and see" one too many times.
What I hear from parents
The school says your kid is disruptive. The pediatrician says it's a phase. Your kid says everyone hates them. And you're the one lying awake at 11pm wondering which adult is right.
I was a teen mom at 17. I know what it is to advocate for a kid while nobody listens. I also know what untreated ADHD does to a child's sense of who they are, because I was that kid.
Who I see
Children 7 and up, and teens through 17, for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma and mood concerns. First visits are 60 minutes and include you. Follow-ups are 30 minutes and may include your kid alone, depending on age.
How I work with families
I don't medicate on a first impression. We look at school reports, sleep, screens, home, and what's already been tried. If medication makes sense, I explain exactly what it does, what to watch for, and when we'll check in. If therapy or school supports are the better first move, I say so and help you get them.

Questions parents ask
Will you put my kid on medication right away? No. We start with a full evaluation. Medication is one option, not the first reflex.
Does my child need to come to Bend? The first visit can be by video. Some families prefer in-person for kids under 10.
Can you talk to the school? Yes, with your written permission. I can provide documentation for 504 plans and IEP meetings.
